Presentation of a photo book, the result of ten months of collaboration between curator Omar Kharchlaa and photographers Alexandra Avidzba and Sabina Khardzhelia.
Alexandra and Sabina’s photographs, designed by graphic designer Elina Khashba, compile a visual chronicle: streets, markets, rural schools, protests, holidays, and people — all of which will become important landmarks for those who want to know what Abkhazia was like in the early 2020s.
The introduction and conclusion, written by project curator Omar Kharchlaa, offer a personal view of a country that embodies isolation and freedom, vulnerability and strength.
