Humanity has undergone an extraordinary evolutionary leap over millions of years, transforming from tree-dwelling primates to intelligent beings who have dominated the Earth. For millennia, humans have formed communities, evolving from primitive tribes to post-industrial societies. This shift from a horizontal organization of life and work to a vertical one led to the emergence of modern states—political structures governed by ruling classes and marked by independence.

The state, often protecting the interests of certain classes while neglecting others, has been a source of tension in the society. Numerous philosophical systems and political models have attempted to create a just society, but none have fully succeeded. Despite the vastness of the modern world, small communities and utopian ideals persist, as evidenced by the lives of communards, squatters, and enthusiasts, who exhibit both cooperation and a residual predatory instinct.

For the 3rd edition of the Microbiennale of Horizontal Initiatives, we invite you to envision a world free from human oppression and predatory behavior—a world without borders or hierarchy. We seek projects that explore new forms of organization and community.

We welcome submissions from:

- Researchers
- Utopian visionaries

Submission formats include:

We expect participants to deliver projects in the following forms:

- Small-scale artworks (painting, works on paper, objects)
- Archival documents
- Recorded or otherwise documented testimonies
- Films and digital works
- Photographs
- Sketches
- If you wish to deliver a lecture on a related topic, please indicate this in your application.
