Nicole Bartsyts, performing the piece, invited the audience to cut away pieces of her clothing, observing how participants would respond to the freedom of action granted to them. Originally performed multiple times by the Japanese artist, the work often evoked varied and sometimes aggressive reactions from viewers. Recreated in Abkhazia, the performance became a collective act of compassion: someone covered the performer with a jacket, another left a lock of their own hair.
