A joint project of two radio stations - SOMA in Abkhazia and LoRa in Switzerland - was achieved with the support of the cultural platform SKLAD_. Aimed at fostering dialogue between the two countries, the project consisted of two broadcasts: one for the Swiss audience featuring invited representatives of the Abkhaz cultural scene, and one for Abkhaz listeners featuring participants who were working in Switzerland at the time of recording.
The first broadcast included Asida Butba and Tatyana Yergunova, curators of SKLAD_, as well as artist Adgur Ampar and singer Hibla Mukba. Alongside music by Abkhaz performers, the conversation provided insights into the country’s contemporary art from the perspective of its cultural figures and revealed their upcoming plans.
For the second broadcast, interviews were recorded with Ken Bugul, a Senegalese writer and resident of the Writers in Residence project; and curators of the cultural platform Last Tango - Linda Jensen and Magda Drozd (also an artist and musician).
Together, these two broadcasts formed a bridge between cultures, demonstrating that contemporary art, music and literature can unite people regardless of geographic boundaries.
