Artist and architect Georgy Baronin explored the history of architecture through the lens of civilizational development, from ancient times to the present day. Departing from the traditional art historical focus on stylistic features, the lecture considered architecture as a way of organising human life and reflecting social change. Baronin concluded his overview with a discussion of historic buildings in Sukhum and their place within the broader context of global architecture.
