Nadezhda Venediktova

Poet, writer, publicist and translator. From 1996 to 2000, actively participated in the work of the Congress of Russian Communities of Abkhazia, edited the newspaper Russkoye Slovo (Russian Word), and from 1998 to 1999 served as Chief Editor of the almanac Literary Abkhazia. From 2000 to 2008, Editor of the magazine Civil Society and, in 2008–2009, Editor-in-Chief of the newspaper Echo of Abkhazia. From 2011 to 2013, held the position of Literary Editor of the almanac South Caucasus. Author of novels The Hermit of Sukhum, Caesar and Venediktova and Life as an Author, short stories, articles and essays about life in Abkhazia and its people. Translated works of Abkhaz writers into Russian, including stories by A. N. Gogua and poems by G. S. Kvitsinia.
